When Good Rivers Turn Bad Contents

The Task

George is a small rural supply business owner in Goondi Hill ( found near the center of the flooding maps). George carried on the business after father retired a few years ago and it is considered one of the most established businesses in Innisfail. The business mostly consists of selling bags of fertilizer, cement and chicken feed. These must at all costs be kept dry. Access to reliable transport is essential to his livelyhood. Luckily the business is near the railway line and railway station. The business is going along well at its present location and George does not wish to move for fear of losing regular rural clients.

His daughter is working with him and enjoys the business. George is anticipating offering her a partnership in the near future. Business has been good George is looking at building a new an larger set of premises at the same location.

Roberta, his daughter has just finished looking at the Johnstone River Flooding study and has some reservations about building in Goondi Hill. She feels George should move the business to more secure location.
